Other times, you’ll get more of a B-side version, but if you just want to keep up with the news without paying for cable, Pluto is more than sufficient. Big names like NBC, CBS and CNN all have channels on Pluto, and they’re often showing the exact same programming as their pay-TV counterparts.

Out of Pluto’s 100+ channels, 15 of them are devoted entirely to covering the news of the day. It has plenty of the kinds of channels that actually need to be watched live: news and sports.

If you want the feeling of cable TV without actually paying for it, Pluto TV is a surprisingly worthy substitute. Those are just few things that came to my mind right now, but there's definitely more.Compatible devices: Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, Android TV Or they do, but only on one of the devices out of like five. I wish there was at least a setting where I could set subtitles for TV and movies separately.Īlso my country isn't in the list of supported TV guides (it was when I was purchasing the TV tuner, but they dropped support shortly after), so I need to keep running a scrobbling program which creates my guide for me, but all the channels don't have icons if I do it like that. I have my subtitles set to show for my normal movies on my HDD, but the vobsub subtitles can't be played by Plex, so a lot of the channels fail to load, unless I go to settings and turn the subtitles off. Most of the channels there are still SD and a lot of channels have vobsub subtitles. For example, we have shared antenna in my apartment building. I wish the TV would be more customizable.
